Rare and refined, with a history of over 3500 years, Assyrtiko wines are born from the most representative variety of Greek grapes, grown on Santorini's volcanic island. The variety mainly produces dry white wines, some aged in oak barrels for five to ten years, or even longer.
Due to its pronounced mineral profile, Assyrtiko blends well with grapes such as Sauvignon blanc, Sémillon, and the white Greek grapes native as Malagousia. It is also associated with the aromatic white grapes Aidani and Athiri to produce Vinsanto, the sweet wine known since Byzantine times. Assyrtiko is perfect for shellfish, seafood, fish, and of course, the classic Greek tomato salad with feta, but it is extremely versatile with a wide range of cuisines.
Our wine perfectly combines Assyrtico with four other varieties - Roditis, Chardonnay, Ugni Blanc, Muscat of Alexandria and Sauvignon Blanc. Our coupage with Assyrtiko are Cavalieri Lazaridi, Chateau Lazaridi and Queen of Hearts.
